Bonnie’s stance for couples counselors:
The primary task of each partner in a couples relationship is to Hold onto Self (ME) and Be There for Another. Most effective when at least one partner develops their ME to influence the couples system (WE). The counselor makes use of their Self to transform the ME and the WE.
